    Overview

    What is Collage Maker?

The Image Splitter divides any photograph, technical diagram, or graphic into custom rows and columns. Whether you need to slice an architectural blueprint into quadrants for printing, divide a digital sprite sheet into individual tiles, or cut photos for print collages, this tool calculates exact pixel dimensions, overlays visual tile numbers, and exports all slices in a single ZIP file—100% on-device in your browser.

    Processing

    What happens to your photo

Four-step on-device pipeline from intake to final encoding without server roundtrips.

    Intake

Decodes multiple image files directly in browser memory with orientation correction.

    Layout

Computes pixel-perfect coordinate bounding boxes accounting for aspect ratio and spacing.

    Compose

Draws cover-fitted images into cells with independent pan, zoom, and corner clipping.

    Export

Encodes collages up to 4096px or packages split tiles into a single ZIP download.

    100% Private on-device

Every calculation and file export happens locally in your browser. No photos ever leave your device.

    2 to 9 Photos supported

    Seamlessly create collages with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 photos with dedicated layout presets.

    Instagram grid splitter

Cut photos into 2x1, 3x1, 3x2, 3x3, or custom rows and columns for carousel banners and profiles.

    Exact pixel math

Integer partition algorithms guarantee tile dimensions sum exactly to source image dimensions.

    Accessible cell swapping

Swap photos by dragging on canvas or using dedicated accessible keyboard select controls.

    ZIP archive packaging

Download all split tiles organized in sequential posting order inside a single ZIP file.

Dividing a large image into smaller, structured sections is a common necessity across graphic design, printing, gaming, and digital publishing. Photographers frequently need to cut large panoramas into uniform segments for multi-panel wall canvases; digital illustrators need to slice character sprite sheets and UI assets into individual tiles; and home crafters often divide high-resolution art into printable sheets to assemble poster-sized mosaics on standard home printers.

Powered by our versatile Collage Maker engine, this tool makes image slicing effortless. Upload any picture, specify your desired rows and columns, preview exact cut lines with visual numbering, and download all parts in a single clean ZIP archive—with zero cloud uploads in full compliance with our on-device privacy policy.

    Common Uses for Image Slicing

Image division serves diverse practical and creative workflows:

    1. Multi-Panel Canvas Wall Art: Slicing a landscape photograph into two (diptych), three (triptych), or four (polyptych) horizontal panels allows you to order segmented canvas prints that span across living room and office walls with modern gallery appeal.
    2. Tile-Based Printing (Poster Mosaics): Standard home and office printers are restricted to 8.5x11 inch or A4 paper. Slicing a large high-resolution poster into a 2x2 or 3x3 grid lets you print individual tiles and piece them together into a large wall display.
    3. Web Design & Email Newsletter Graphics: Slicing complex visual mockups and email marketing banners into responsive image blocks optimizes web load times and enables clickable multi-link sections.
    4. Game Development & Sprite Sheets: Game developers and pixel artists can quickly slice uniform grid sprite sheets into individual animation frames and texture map tiles.

    How Exact Tile Partitioning Works

When slicing images digitally, rounding errors can create slight discrepancies between tiles if not handled with care. If an image is 1920 pixels wide and divided into 3 columns, each column receives exactly 640 pixels. However, if the image width is 1921 pixels, simple division might discard the extra pixel or create uneven seams.

Our slicing algorithm uses mathematical integer partitioning:

    • Column widths and row heights are computed so that the sum of all tile widths matches the source width down to the exact pixel.
    • Any remainder pixels are distributed evenly across the initial tiles, ensuring that no tile differs in size by more than 1 pixel.
    • Adjacent tiles align with zero overlap and zero gaps.

Streamlined ZIP Download via Browser-Native Compression

Downloading dozens of separate image files individually is slow and cumbersome. To streamline your workflow, our tool utilizes the ultra-fast, client-side fflate compression library:

    • All rendered tiles are assembled directly in browser memory.
    • Files are named in clean sequential order (tile-01.png, tile-02.png, etc.) for effortless organization.
    • A single ZIP file is generated in milliseconds, ready for one-click saving to your computer or phone.

      FAQ

      Questions, answered

Common questions about formats, privacy, performance, and offline capabilities.

How many parts can I split an image into?

You can split your image into up to 6 rows and 6 columns (up to 36 individual tiles) using the Custom mode, or choose standard presets such as 2x1, 3x1, 3x2, and 3x3 grids.

Do the split parts lose image quality?

No. The splitting engine extracts raw pixel regions directly from your master image without downsampling or applying lossy compression. You can export in lossless PNG, standard JPG, or modern WebP format.

How do I download all the split parts at once?

Clicking 'Download All (ZIP)' packages every sliced image tile into a single uncompressed ZIP archive using fast browser-side fflate. You do not need to download files one by one.

Is my image uploaded to an external server?

No. Everything runs strictly on your own device inside the browser sandbox. No file data is ever uploaded or transmitted across the internet. Read our privacy policy for complete assurance.
